One crazy weekend

So it seems i am not used to blogging. I seemed to have forgotten I had one. Whoopsie. Anyway this past weekend was a crazy one. Went to Rumors Friday with the new neighbors. They were very sweet. But as usual, a beer tower can lead to a bit too much drinking and some major chatting, which ultimately seems to lead to taking tons of shots and ending up at the Metal bar, one of the Fork's hot spots.

10 AM
Woke up with a huge head ache to a text from Lisa saying she'd be back soon to go to "Spring fest"- the GFK excuse to pretend you go to UND and hang out in the park listening to live music and drinking 3 dollar pounders...should be interesting i thought. She came over and helped clean the kitchen that had been caked with flour and cheese from the "awesome" mac-n-cheese I had once again decided to make while intoxicated. Excellent....well at least she pretty much cleaned shop this time so it wasn't too bad (for me anyway). We headed to spring fest. I was a little disappointed at the turn out but with a hang over it just felt good to be in the sun. It was only 11ish in the morning. Once nate got there it was a different story.

12ish
He decided to boost the mood with a few drinks. Found Mikes hard lemonade that tasted pretty good in time for scott to get there.

By this time the park was full and I met a few characters. Abe Lincoln, a really drunk girl who was into giving shots from her shirt, and some cheetah pants. We also found another Penn Stater to snag a picture with.

We got to enjoy live music and some good laughs, then people dispersed. Lisa went to work, scott and matt both miraculously had to do laundry and nate and I were out of cash. We decided to walk to the gas station and met a few characters on the way. They were pretty cool and nate had some time to contemplate some pressing issues.

By the time we made it back Spring Fest was over :( it was being taken down and it was time to go home. Pumped up on Rockstar energy drink, nate and I were not ready for the day to end. We headed back to the house for some pizza with the good ol' Janglin. After some pizza and some entertainment provided by the rare creature that "cant be taaaamed" we headed out for our Grand Forks Dive Bar Tour.

9pm
We headed for "the bun" but ended up at the Broken Drum. It actually was pretty nice, minus the few middle aged mullets and someone breaking a pool stick over his knee when he missed a shot...Next we found the Bun:) it was our first true dive i guess, they were playing country slow, the tables were a bit tippy and there were no tap beers...we had some cans and checked out the girl in chaps at the table next to us. We then headed for the next stop McMennimies...not sure about the spelling on that one. This was probably the most strange, they had no taps as well but there were very few tables/people and a lone cigarette machine in the corner that doubled as a candy machine...classy old school. We chilled there for a bit and decided to end the night at the classiest stop.......The Diamond Lounge...

12am
The Diamond...well there are no words, what happens there stays there and all i have to say is before you leave Grand Forks you better visit this Gem on Demers.

By the end of the night, we'd danced, we'd saw some classy people and loved every min of our lovely little grand forks town. I strongly recommend visiting theses sightly places when ever you can. It is the true heart and soul of the town. You never truly see grand forks fully until you see it through the smoke and neon of the grand forks town bars :) Uhhh i just love it here :)
